The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) was established by the United Nations in 1945 as a specialized agency to promote international collaboration. UNESCO has developed projects to secure cultural heritage, preserve human rights and to eradicate poverty. The organization functions in five major areas which are; education, social sciences, natural sciences, culture and communication. By promoting moral solidarity and mutual understanding, UNESCO seeks to create a world of lasting peace. In 2015 as part of the 70th session of UN General Assembly, UN officials have gathered with Heads of States and have adopted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which form a universal program to establish stability and progress. UNESCO aspires to show active participance and contribution to achieve these objectives in order to amend the harms caused by hatred and war.
